As children, our hearts ignite with the thrill of treasure hunting, an adventure that captivates us and fuels our passions. Growing up in Michigan, the Great Lakes State, I spent countless hours by the lake shore, skipping rocks with my grandmother. She, being an avid treasure hunter herself, sparked my own appetite for discovering exquisite gemstones. Little did I know that two friends, Cyrus and Alex, would further fuel this passion. Recognizing my deep desire and enthusiasm, my parents took me to gem and mineral shows in which I built an impressive collection over the years. Unlike other children, every moment of finding something beautiful or rare became a cherished memory.
In my small community, influential individuals shaped me into the person I am today. One such person was Ron Peters, an older man and fellow rockhound in the lapidary arts, befriended by my parents. I remember the day Ron and his wife visited our house, surprising me at the dinner table. Overwhelmed with excitement, Ron gifted me a collection of rocks and minerals, including black and white opal. I questioned him, astonished by his generosity, but he reassured me with joy and gratitude. To this day, I treasure the collection he bestowed upon me, alongside the stones I gathered over the years myself. My true calling became clear as I delved into the world of gem and jewelry craftsmanship.
Apprenticing in goldsmithing with Rob McGrady and studying at the renowned New Approach School for Jewelers in Virginia Beach, under the tutelage of Blaine Lewis, solidified my passion. Later, I had the honor of working with prestigious high-end jewelry brands like Tiffany & Co. Embracing a genuine love and passion for this artistry is the key to excelling in this field. My greatest wish is for everyone to discover that one thing that sparks their own inner fire and sets them on an extraordinary journey of self-discovery. At Aaron Robert, we craft jewelry that embodies natural origins, meticulously made by hand, carrying the essence of your unique treasure-hunting spirit.
